Volunteer

I may have drank slightly too much last night. Perhaps I shouldn't have started at 9 am with that bottle of wine my parents left me. I am going to sit still and only look at books with waterproof covers in case ... well.

Eiji I don't even want to think about what you did last night, I hope you enjoyed your day.

Last weekend's trips around the local shrines and temples was very interesting and peaceful. It was good to get away from everyone for a while. One of the bigger temples is looking for volunteer tour guides. I've put in an application. I would be able to speak both Japanese and English and perhaps even practice my French a little. I think it would be a good thing to do with part of my weekends alone, since no one belongs in shrines here.

[ooc: Oishi bought two picture frames. He gave them both to Eiji in the hope he would keep them, but doesn't really expect him to retain both XD]

Would you like some more water, Oishi? Or perhaps tea, if the water is getting a bit too bland? And let me know when you feel up to would like to eat.

You've applied to be a tour guide? At a temple of all places? Yuushi-sama is never going to let you live this down, you realize If you'll forgive my forwardness, wouldn't it better serve your prospects for medical school if you applied to volunteer at one of the local hospitals or clinics instead?

[identity profile] g0ldengreen.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
Tea would be good .... probably ... at least, I'll try it. Thank you, Ohtori-kun.

Well, it .... it might but ... the peace at the temples was such a relief nice and no one will find me there they do need the help. Oshitari would probably burn up on entry. Sin and all that.

[identity profile] silverfromsteel.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
I'll have some ready momentarily.

I...suppose that is true. I'll fetch the appropriate paperwork while you're at class tomorrow, shall I?

Screened:

Oishi-sama, I hate to be so blunt, but - you do realize there's a high probability that Yuushi-sama will never let this drop.

[identity profile] g0ldengreen.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you and yes, that would be really helpful.

Screened:

I'm sure he'll be like, too busy, to notice?

[identity profile] silverfromsteel.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
You can work on it after your homework tomorrow evening, and if you let me know when it's done I can drop it off for you as well.

Screened:

Somehow, I rather doubt it, Oishi.

He's really not that bad, you know.

[identity profile] g0ldengreen.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
I will, thanks again!

Screened:

You just told me he was going to bully me for volunteering in a good cause. How is that 'not that bad'?

Screened

[identity profile] silverfromsteel.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
Not bully, but he's going to find it hilarious, just as he has every other time, and he's not going to be particularly shy about letting you know that. I suppose if that doesn't bother you...Perhaps I shouldn't have said anything.

But I must admit, Oishi-sama, I'm really not quite sure where you got the idea that I'm going to get, well, debauched if I go within ten feet of him - you do realize he's never once indicated he was interested in me?

Screened

[identity profile] g0ldengreen.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
If he had any respect for other people, he wouldn't say anything! Or he'd be more supportive of good initiatives.

There's always a risk of you being debauched. He invited you around to his rooms with the sole purpose of getting you drunk, Ohtori-kun!

I think I'm just going to let that one go

Oishi-sama, that was forever ago, and I've a strong suspicion it was Mukahi's idea and he's been nothing but good to me since. He's a very good listener.

It's what he does with the information that concerns me more.

[identity profile] silverfromsteel.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 02:03 pm (UTC)(link)
He's not done anything with mine.

Anyway, it's not important, Oishi-sama. I'll go get that tea for you, now.

He'll probably use it to tease me mercilessly.... somehow.

Thank you.

Even French? That sounds like an excellent opportunity if you are seriously considering attempting to become fluent.

[identity profile] g0ldengreen.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I think at the moment they would only use me as a last resort as a French tour guide, but they don't have many volunteers speaking the language. Even if they have someone else, I thought attending those tours myself might help.

Getting experience outside of tutoring and classwork will allow you approve tenfold. Good luck.

[identity profile] g0ldengreen.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! It's nice to combine my studies with something that will help people too.

[identity profile] pousser-ailes.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm... y'know what's reaaallly weird?

[identity profile] g0ldengreen.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 01:29 pm (UTC)(link)
.... What's really weird?

--
[ooc: Oishi's tone is full of apprehension!]

[identity profile] pousser-ailes.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
No one uses !s anymore :( It's like they're an endangered species!

[identity profile] g0ldengreen.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Exclamation marks? What has that got to do with anything? Well ... Mukahi-kun is quite fond of them. Would you have preferred it if I made a post in glittering purple text and with ten exclamation marks?

[identity profile] pousser-ailes.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Mou, but when no one uses 'em even an 'I hope you enjoyed your day' sounds like I'm being told off xP

Is that better, Eiji? The things I do ...

[identity profile] pousser-ailes.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
^________________________^ I did! Didja have fun at the wedding?

[identity profile] g0ldengreen.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
It wasn't as bad as it could have been.

I don't even remember most of it.

It was really special, Eiji. And you did look amazing.

[identity profile] pousser-ailes.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay! I'm really glad you came, Oishi ^o^

[identity profile] g0ldengreen.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
You... you are?

--
[ooc: awww XD]

[identity profile] pousser-ailes.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
'course I am! Why would I make you come for it if I didn't want you there, Oishi?

[identity profile] g0ldengreen.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, you're friends with Fuji so one can never rule out raw sadism. True! I am really glad it made you happy, Eiji! (There, two exclamation marks).

[identity profile] pousser-ailes.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
See, that wasn't so hard, right~?

Now for another reaaaallly important question... Are you really gonna go be a monk like Yuushi-sama keeps saying?

[identity profile] g0ldengreen.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Would you no longer care for me if I said 'yes', Eiji?

--
[ooc: yeah, now *you* get teased XD]

[identity profile] pousser-ailes.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Nuh uh! Why would I? Monks're cool!

... Does that mean yes or no?

[identity profile] pousser-ailes.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
:o

What exactly would a monk do? Would you give people their new year fortunes 'n stuff?

[identity profile] g0ldengreen.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I think Yukimura-kun has already stolen that task. Monks help people to observe religious rites and often school children and adults in Buddhism, as well as seeking greater understanding through prayer and study.

--
[ooc: does that sound plausible? I confess to having little idea!]

[identity profile] prettynotweak.livejournal.com 2010-03-03 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
Do you want your fortune told as well Oishi? :)

[identity profile] g0ldengreen.livejournal.com 2010-03-03 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
I would find that interesting, Yukimura-kun.

[identity profile] prettynotweak.livejournal.com 2010-03-03 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Whenever you have time tonight then.

[identity profile] g0ldengreen.livejournal.com 2010-03-03 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
To-tonight? Am I ready for this?! No, wait, it's not real. It's fine. Perhaps.

I'll see you late then. Thank you, Yukimura-kun.

[identity profile] prettynotweak.livejournal.com 2010-03-03 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Anytime Oishi-kun :)

[identity profile] silverfromsteel.livejournal.com 2010-03-03 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
You tell fortunes, Yukimura-sama?

[identity profile] silverfromsteel.livejournal.com 2010-03-03 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
Me? Goodness, no. My sister had a friend at college who read tarot cards, though.

[identity profile] prettynotweak.livejournal.com 2010-03-03 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Pity. I do love making up stories

(ooc: strikes deleted)

[identity profile] g0ldengreen.livejournal.com 2010-03-03 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
You should have your fortune read, Ohtori-kun. I would like you to accompany me to visit Yukimura-kun regardless. I won't go into Sole alone.

[identity profile] silverfromsteel.livejournal.com 2010-03-03 12:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course I'll accompany you if you wish me to, Oishi-sama, but I think I'll pass on having my fortune read - I've never put a whole lot of stock in the idea that one's future is set. Though the theory behind all the meanings does seem fascinating.
