Pink houseguests

Tezuka! I hope you had a good time in Argentina! Um... you might have noticed though quite possibly not the ... the ... dog. The pink one. It was starving and I just couldn't leave him. He must have belonged to one of the people that came into the morgue.

He is really well trained! He spends most of the time staring at the fish, being stalked by Ohtori's cat or following Yanagi around... actually, that's what he does most. I promise I will try and find him a new home soon.

Dog tales

I ... seem to be being ... stalked ... by a dog.

It sits outside the hospital door closest to the morgue all day and tries to get inside every time someone goes in or out. When I leave, it follows me to the subway stop before being shooed away at the ticket barrier.

I guess it must have been the pet of one of the people who was brought in this last week. The odd thing is that we only currently have a foreign biker and two men we strongly suspect are from the yakuza. The dog is ... well ... it's a pink poodle so...

I've been giving it part of my lunch which is hard because Ohtori isn't around to make me more but I'm unsure what to do for the best. Each time someone takes it to the kennels, it's back by the hospital the next morning.

Happy birthday, Yagyuu-san! I don't suppose you'd like a pink poodle as a present? I'm actually a little unsure what to get for you, since I don't know what you already have. Is there something medical related that you would like?

Not eaten by fish

I have not been eaten by fish! I've just been dealing with dead people all day busy at work and tired in the evenings. It is sometimes difficult now Ohtori is so busy since I insisted he have music lessons from dawn to dusk to keep him away from Tezuka's butlers.

Tezuka, I was sorry to hear about the death of one of your class mates. Are you feeling ok? It's odd... the article suggested he died here in Tokyo, but I did not see a body in the morgue. Though there have been some other unusual cases at work too of late...

New schedule

Ohtori, I've been thinking about your musical eduction and I really feel the time has come for you to have less time to be manipulated by Yanagi focus on your studies.

I've organised a new schedule for you:

9:30 - 11:30 am: Violin lesson with Yamada-san.

11:30 - 12:30 pm: Music theory with Saigo-san, an excellent teacher in Tokyo.

12:30 - 1:30 pm: Lunch break. You should perhaps consider staying out of Tezuka's house in the downtown area for this hour, rather than trying to return home.

1:30 - 3:30 pm: Instrument practice time. I've arranged for you to have access to the music rooms close to me at the University during this time!

3:30 - 5:30 pm: Not enough Time for your other duties. I know your butler studies are also important to you.

I should hope to be home around 6:30, although twice a week I do have to take a late shift at the hospital. On those nights I thought you would like to attend some of the performances put on by the music schools in the city. Please do make a list of the ones you would wish to attend!

Reassigned

I brought Kunikeiko baby-think-it-over back to the hospital. Apart from obviously missing an arm, the doll's meter recorded substantial physical abuse. I guess it was from that dog in the park I feel awful.

I've been taken off the children's ward early and moved to pathology... forensics branch. My course instructor has suggested this would be a good break from people. He also proposed a holiday.

Yagyuu-san, what did you think of Kirihara's ... um ... condition when we went to the Tanabata festival?

Baby think it over

Tezuka! I think your idea of adopting a child in need is a lovely thought, but are you sure you've really thought it through? I brought this doll back from the hospital; it's called 'baby think it over' and it is an infant simulator. You can 'care' for the baby using a special key that mimics nappy changes, feeding and comforting.

Unfortunately .... they're quite in the demand over the summer ... so I was only able to get the drug-addicted version. It might be a little bit harder to care for than the other ones, but I'm sure you'll do well! It'll give you and Atobe a feel for what you might have to give up in order to bring up a child.

Festival friends

Kirihara-kun, I wondered if you would like to join Yagyuu and myself at the Tanabata festival? Frankly, I need the second option. We could maybe go after the arcade?

Puppy love

Yukimura-san, Ohtori and I will both attend your house-warming, if that is ok? At least ... Ohtori will if he has finished serving Atobe and if he doesn't want to stay home with the kitten.

I'm unsure what you would like as a gift? I doubt somehow that you would like extra bandages or medical supplies. Might I bring something for your dog?

Yagyuu-san.... it is definite possible that Ohtori-kun, my butler, might invite you to ... to a birthday celebration ... for me ... this weekend. Please don't feel you have to attend.

He also thinks we're ... we're .... well, that we're... not ... just ... friends becauseIdidn'ttellhimIwasmeetingyou.

Um, Yagyuu-san .... I need ... a favour. I know you're not my doctor but I was wondering if... if you wouldn't mind ... just this once ... writingmeaprescriptionforallergymedicine?

I know it's a bit illegal unusual but if I go to my usual doctor, Ohtori-kun will see and I don't want him to worry. It's not a big deal ... just a bit of sneezing from the cat.

Back home

It's good to be back in Japan despite everything. Living in another country is an amazing experience and it's not hard to stay in contact with friends and family, but when something goes wrong at home you're the wrong end of the world.

Tezuka, that you for letting us stay. Ohtori-kun and I will try and find a new location as soon as we are set up here.

Ohtori-kun, the medical school I've transferred to is a couple of hours from where we are now. I don't quite know yet how things will work, so I'll go in alone this week and we'll catch up in the evenings. Take this time to recover get familiar with the area.

Tour guide!

My application to be a temple tour guide for visiting tourists was accepted! I have to spend tomorrow learning the grounds thoroughly and the history of the temple before planning out what I have to say. My first tour will be next weekend in either Japanese, English or (if there really is no one else) French.

Eiji or Tezuka, would either of you like to visit the temple and hear my tour in French? I could use the help to make sure I am understandable!

Ohtori-kun, you don't have to come with me to the temple each week. You are welcome to take the time for your own activities.

Volunteer

I may have drank slightly too much last night. Perhaps I shouldn't have started at 9 am with that bottle of wine my parents left me. I am going to sit still and only look at books with waterproof covers in case ... well.

Eiji I don't even want to think about what you did last night, I hope you enjoyed your day.

Last weekend's trips around the local shrines and temples was very interesting and peaceful. It was good to get away from everyone for a while. One of the bigger temples is looking for volunteer tour guides. I've put in an application. I would be able to speak both Japanese and English and perhaps even practice my French a little. I think it would be a good thing to do with part of my weekends alone, since no one belongs in shrines here.

Smack.

Sanada-kun, can I ask you about kendo lessons? I really need to hit something would like the exercise. I'd be a complete beginner though, would that be a problem for your class?

Ohtori-kun, I was thinking of visiting the local shrines at the weekend. You can come of course, but you don't have to if you have things to attend to.

Busy day

Tachibana-kun ... I'm afraid I accidentally slipped and knocked all my clothes off their hangers in the wardrobe. Would you mind washing everything and ensuring the jacket, shirts and trousers are re-pressed? The bedding needs to be done as well. Stupidly, I also spilt water on the carpet while cleaning the fish tank. I tend to do that a lot, so it's probably time to give the entire carpet a deep clean. Could you see to this personally? Also, I think the pans in the kitchen could use a proper scouring and the floor washed. The guilt eats me but I can't cope with the watching anymore.

I'll be out around the school and grounds during the day and in the evening I am dining with Tezuka. It is unfortunate you will not be able to accompany me, but I really feel this is more important. Thanks.
